Salifou Camara wins a second term as President of FEGUIFOOT

Camara re-elected president of Guinea Football FederationMr. Salifou Camara commonly nicknamed “Super V”, was re-elected as President of the Guinea Football Federation (FEGUIFOOT) on Friday August 14 2015. He had 84 votes whilst his main Opponent Mr. Djibril Diarra “Beckenbauer” gained 33 votes.

The electoral body composed of 121 delegates registered four (4) invalid votes at the Elective General Assembly which was supervised on behalf of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) by Roger Ouegnin of Cote d’Ivoire.

Elections for Vice Presidents and Executive Committee members were also conducted during the Assembly held at the ‘Palais du Peuple’ in Conakry. Amadou Diaby and Zalikatou Diallo were elected Vice presidents after gaining the highest votes amongst the three candidates.  The General Assembly subsequently endorsed and approved the  appointment of the third candidate Ibrahima Conte Sorry as an Honorary Vice President of the Federation and Special Adviser to the President.

All in all twenty (20) candidates competed for the remaining 12 positions on the Executive Committee. Again, the election was conducted in strict compliance with the statutes of the Federation.
