Guinea will hold a training camp in Casablanca, Morocco to prepare for the Orange Africa Nations’ Cup, Equatorial Guinea 2015. Guineefoot has confirmed that the Syli National will set a training camp in Morocco from January 7 – 16 2015 to put the final touches of their preparations for the 30th edition of the showpiece continental football event.
During their camping in Morocco, Coach Michel Dussuyer and his Technical team will determine their readiness with test matches against the Moroccan Olympic team on 10 January 10, 2015 in El Jadida and three (3) days later against the Teranga Lions of Senegal in Casablanca. Morocco has played home to Syli National having hosted their games in the CAN 2015 qualifiers after they were banned from playing at home due to outbreak of the Ebola virus in Guinea.
Both sides have other friendlies planned while in Morocco – Senegal are set to face another Nations Cup-bound side Gabon, while Guinea will play the Moroccan Under-23 side on 10 January.
Teranga Lions (Senegal) have been draw in Group C at the Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea, where they will play Ghana, South Africa and Algeria.
The Syli Nationale, making their 11th appearance at the biennial championship are in Group D with Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Mali.
Morocco had been due to host the Nations Cup finals but had the tournament taken away from them after asking for a postponement because of their concerns over the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.
This is the 11th appearance of the Guinea national team at the biennial championship and they are in Group D with Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire and Mali. In the 1976 edition of the African Nations’ Cup in Ethiopia, the Syli National registered their best performance ever when they finished as runners-up.
