The WAFU Zone A representative Guinea got off to a winning start at the CAF U-17 championship with Aboubabacar Toure’s goal in the 25th minute of a very thrilling encounter, the second match at the Stade General Seyni Kountche.
Substitute Kenny Sinkala twice went close for the Junior Chipolopolo in the second half as they fought back hard for an equalizer. Keeper Moussa Camara was equal to the task as he denied Daka and Mwepu to ensure all the three points for Guinea.
Zambia will now take on Niger on January 18 with Guinea playing Nigeria on the same day. The winner of the latter would may gain a semi – finals and qualification to the FIFA U17 World Cup, Chile 2015.
