CAN 2015 – DR Congo’s spectacular comeback win

In the first quarter final match in Group A on Saturday, DR Congo  came from behind to defeat Congo Republic 4-2 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Africa Nations’ Cup, 2015.

Congo, who were offered a spot in final tournament after Rwanda were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player, had a 2-0 lead before DR Congo fought back to win with four goals in the last 25 minutes.

In the 10th minute of the second-half, Ferebory Dore volleyed home a superb goal.  Bifouma then doubled their lead just after the hour but the Leopards kept their hopes alive in the 65th  minute when Dieumerci Mbokani found the net.

Loteteka Bokila equalised with quarter of an hour remaining before substitute Joel Kimwaki Mpela put Florent Ibenge’s side ahead and Mbokani for the win that sees DR Congo advance to the semi – finals for the first time since 1998 while the Red Devils had lick their wounds on the way home.
