In an interesting encounter in the Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium in Dakar on Saturday January 10, the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde survived a first – half onslaught that put Congo in a 2-0 win. But Cape Verde came back with more determination and better organisation to win the game with three second-half goals.
Claude Le Roy, Coach of the Congolese team said the “result was not very important since they are to get ready for Equatorial Guinea before January 17 but it explains the lack of experience of the players”.
“it was just a friendly encounter that we were poised to win but we made many mistakes in the second-half and we were punished”, declared the French Technician at the end of the International friendly in LSS Stadium, Dakar.
Congo will play Equatorial Guinea in Bata in the opening match of the African Nations’ Cup 2015 on January 17. Gabon and Burkina Faso are the other teams in Group A.
