CHAN 2016 – Guinea and Mali progress to the next round

Guinea and Mali are the latest teams to book their places on Sunday for the next round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Rwanda 2016.

The Syli Nationale of Guinea held Liberia to a 1-1 draw in Monrovia whilst Mali which beat Guinea Bissau 3-1 in Bamako.

In  West Zone A, Senegal confirmed their superiority over The Gambia beating them 1-0 in Bakau to reach the final round. Mouhamed Ndoye’s first-half header gave the Teranga Lions a 4-1 aggregate score.

In Monrovia, Vitalis Sie scored in the 38th minute to hand Liberia a first-half lead before Alseny Camara restored parity for Guinea in the 57th minute. The Sylis advanced 4-2 on aggregate.

The final tournament will be held from January 16 to February 7, 2016 in Rwanda.
