Eagles landed in Dakar For WAFU Tourney

Despite rumours of an Ebola outbreak in MaliMali, a 28 – man delegation arrived in Dakar at 14:25 on Wednesday afternoon on an A-SKY flight to honour WAFU’s invitation to participate in a memorial tournament to celebrate the life and times of the Late Mawade Wade who served African and World football in various capacities notably in the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The Malian National team will play a two-team tournament with Senegal in Mbour on December 5 and 7, 2014.

WAFU President Augustin Senghor expressed his delight and appreciation for Mali participation and promised that this kind of tournament will be part of WAFU’s programs on rotational basis to celebrate our great football personalities in our Member Associations.

General Secretary Jammeh E.K. Bojang echoed similar sentiments and added that “if we do not appreciate each other, we can never celebrate the lives and times of others”.
